1. Who you are contracting with

Go Family Story is provided by Lemniscate ehf. ("Lemniscate", "we", "us"), an Icelandic company, kennitala 711019-1030. By creating an account or continuing to use the service, you agree to these terms. If you use the service on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you have authority to bind it; otherwise you confirm you are of legal age to enter into this agreement.

2. The service

Go Family Story is a private digital archive for family stories. It lets you create story spaces for the people you love, send them questions written for their relationship to you (for example a mother, father, partner, sibling or child), invite family and friends to contribute their own answers about the same person, and collect answers, photos, voice recordings and memories in one private place. Only people you invite can see a story space. Nothing you write is used to train any model. Go Family Story is sold only as a subscription to this software: we do not operate a marketplace, sell physical goods, or provide funeral, memorial or any other regulated services. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service within the plan you have selected.

3. What you buy

• Free preview — browse the service and your spaces in read-only mode; saving answers and the other features below require a purchase.
• The Keepsake Gift — $59, charged once. It opens one story space for twelve months from the date of purchase, with 100 questions written for the chosen relationship, further sets of 100 on request at no extra cost (up to 1,000 per space), unlimited invited contributors, unlimited photo, video and audio uploads, the automatically generated book, and export at any time. It is a one-time purchase: it does not renew, and there is nothing to cancel.

A Keepsake Gift covers one story space. To gather another person's story, buy another gift. When the twelve months end, the space and its content remain available to read and export; adding new answers requires a further purchase. Existing subscriptions bought before we moved to one-time pricing continue on their original terms until they are cancelled.

Prices are in US dollars and exclude any taxes the Merchant of Record must add at checkout. We may change prices at any time; a change never affects a purchase already made.

4. Acceptable use

You must be at least 18 years old to buy a subscription. You must not misuse the service. That includes:

• Using it for anything unlawful, or to defraud, spam or harass others
• Infringing anyone's intellectual property or privacy rights
• Uploading malware, probing or attacking our systems, or scraping the service
• Reverse engineering the service or circumventing technical limits
• Reselling or redistributing access to the service
• Uploading or sharing sexually explicit material, hateful or violent content, or content that exploits or endangers children
• Using the service in connection with gambling, adult services, weapons, drugs, pharmaceuticals, tobacco, cryptocurrency or financial trading, counterfeit goods, multi-level marketing, or any other regulated or restricted activity
• Uploading another living person's private information without their knowledge and agreement

You are responsible for the content you and your invitees add, for having the right to share it, and for keeping your account credentials confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your information accurate and up to date.

We may suspend or close an account that breaches these rules. Where the breach is minor and fixable we will contact you first at hello@gofamilystory.com; where it is serious or unlawful we may act immediately and without refund.

5. Your content

Your stories, photos and recordings remain yours. You grant us a limited licence to host and process your content solely to provide the service to you and the people you invite. You can export your content at any time.

6. Our intellectual property

We retain all ownership of the service itself — the software, design, documentation andGo Family Story branding. These terms do not transfer any of that to you.

7. Payments, billing and cancellation

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Lemon Squeezy. Lemon Squeezy is the Merchant of Record for all our orders and handles billing, tax and returns. Payment, billing, tax, cancellation and refund mechanics are governed by Lemon Squeezy's Buyer Terms. The Keepsake Gift is charged once. It does not renew, no recurring payment is set up, and your payment method is not charged again.

Discount codes. If you have a valid discount code, enter it on the Lemon Squeezy checkout page. Discounts are applied at the time of purchase and cannot be applied retroactively to payments already made.

Nothing to cancel. Because there is no subscription, there is nothing to cancel and no renewal to stop. If you want a refund, see our Refund Policy — 30 days, no questions asked. At the end of the twelve months the space becomes read-only; your content remains accessible and exportable.

Older subscriptions. If you bought a monthly or yearly subscription before we moved to one-time pricing, it continues to renew at the interval you chose until you cancel it from your Account page, the Lemon Squeezy customer portal or the link in your billing email. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period.

8. Service level

We work hard to keep the service available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free performance. The service is provided "as is" and we disclaim all implied warranties (including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose) to the fullest extent permitted by law.

9. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access for material breach of these terms, non-payment, security or fraud risk, or repeated or serious policy violations. If your access ends, your content remains exportable for a reasonable period, after which it may be deleted.

10. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, consequential or special damages (including loss of profits, data or goodwill), and our aggregate liability is capped at the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, death or personal injury where the law does not allow it. You indemnify us against claims arising from your content, unlawful use, or breach of these terms.

11. General

These terms are governed by the laws of Iceland, and disputes are subject to the courts of Iceland. You may not assign these terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger or acquisition. We are not responsible for delays caused by events beyond our reasonable control. If we update these terms, we will note the new date above.
